About IMG2WEBP
A small, focused tool for one job: making the images on your website smaller without making them look worse.
What IMG2WEBP does
IMG2WEBP converts images from the common web formats — JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP, TIFF— into WebP, the format Google designed for smaller, better-looking images on the web. You can convert up to five images per batch, set the quality with a single slider and download the results individually or as one ZIP archive.
Why we built it
Image weight is usually the easiest performance win on a site, and also the one most often skipped: exporting, re-encoding and checking quality by hand is tedious. We wanted a converter that answers one question quickly — "how much smaller will this get?" — with a before-and-after size for every file, so the decision is obvious.
How conversion works
When you convert a batch, the files are sent to our conversion service, re-encoded as WebP at the quality level you selected and returned for download. If the service is unreachable, the tool falls back to converting the images directly in your browser, so the page keeps working.
What we do not do
- We do not require an account, an email address or a credit card.
- We do not add watermarks or resize your images behind your back.
- We do not keep your uploads: files are removed automatically after conversion.
- We do not sell or share your files with third parties.
